Large deviations of a forced velocity-jump process with a Hamilton–Jacobi approach

چکیده
We study the dispersion of a particle whose motion dynamics can be described by forced velocity jump process. To investigate large deviations results, we Kolmogorov forward equation this process in hyperbolic scaling (t,x,v)→(t/ε,x/ε,v) and then, perform Hopf–Cole transform which gives us kinetic on potential. prove convergence potential as ε→0 to solution Hamilton–Jacobi equation. The hamiltonian have C 1 singularity, was previously observed kind studies. This is preliminary work before studying spreading results for more realistic processes.

15 صفحه اولfrom linguistics to literature: a linguistic approach to the study of linguistic deviations in the turkish divan of shahriar
chapter i provides an overview of structural linguistics and touches upon the saussurean dichotomies with the final goal of exploring their relevance to the stylistic studies of literature. to provide evidence for the singificance of the study, chapter ii deals with the controversial issue of linguistics and literature, and presents opposing views which, at the same time, have been central to t...
15 صفحه اولGuessing and Compression : A Large Deviations Approach
The problem of guessing a random string is studied. It arises in the analysis of the strength of secret-key cryptosystems against guessing attacks. Expected number of guesses, or more generally moments of the number of guesses needed to break the cryptosystem grow exponentially with the length of the string. This thesis studies the rate of exponential growth of these moments using the theory of...
متن کاملPersistent search in confined domains: a velocity-jump process model
We analyze velocity-jump process models of persistent search for a single target on a bounded domain. The searcher proceeds along ballistic trajectories and is absorbed upon collision with the target boundary. When reaching the domain boundary, the searcher chooses a random direction for its new trajectory. For circular domains and targets, we can approximate the mean first passage time (MFPT) ...
متن کاملPortfolio choice with endogenous utility: a large deviations approach
This paper provides an alternative behavioral foundation for an investor’s use of power utility in the objective function and its particular risk aversion parameter. The foundation is grounded in an investor’s desire to minimize the objective probability that the growth rate of invested wealth will not exceed an investor-selected target growth rate. Large deviations theory is used to show that ...
